One of the most famous country singers known today and a part time actor, Tim McGraw was born Samuel Timothy McGraw on May 1, 1967. Tim McGraw started playing guitar and singing in college at festival and bars for tips until 1989 when he decided to drop out of college and pursue a musical career in Nashville. In 1990, Tim McGraw signed a record contract with Curb Records releasing his first record Tim McGraw in 1993. The music video for the song off that record called Welcome to the Club earned Tim his first Male Video Artist of the Year Award from Country Music Television.
Since that time, Tim McGraw has released 17 albums that sold over 40 million units, with eleven consecutive albums reaching number one on the Billboard charts. Tim has won three People’s Choice Awards, ten American Music Awards, three Grammys, fourteen Academy of Country Music awards and eleven CMA awards. Twenty-one of his singles have been in the Billboard Hot Country Number One spot. Touring with his wife Faith Hill on the Soul2Soul II tour earned them the highest grossing concert tours in the history of country music.
