The Neighbourhood is a band originating from Newbury Park, California. They are a group of five friends who make music together. Members in the band include the founder and lead vocalist of the group Jesse Rutherford, guitarist Zach Abels, bass guitarist Mikey Margott, drummer Bryan Sammis and guitarist Jeremy Freedman. The band, as a collective, has carved out a unique sound that is not easily described. It has been defined as the perfect blend of electronica, indie rock and hip-hop rhythm laced together with R&B vocals. The Neighbourhood band first formed in August of 2011, but it wouldn't be until 2012 that they entered music entertainment world. At the beginning of 2012, the group discretely popped up on the internet. There was no information online about who or what the band was. The only representation of the Neighbourhood on the internet, at the time, was a song called "Female Robbery." The song caught the attention of listeners and ultimately prompted enthusiasts to seek out any info about the group. Many failed to gain the knowledge they sought out but thanks to DJ Zane Lower, the world was informed of who the band was. Along with releasing "Female Robbery," the group also released a track called "Sweater Weather". These two songs sparked the production of their debut EP I'm Sorry, which was released May of 2012. Success of the EP led up to the production of their debut album, I Love You, which was released April 23, 2013, on Columbia Records.
