Status Quo is an English rock band that was founded in 1962 by schoolboys named Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster. Before the band gained any popularity they were as known as The Scorpions. During that time they scored their first gig at the Samuel Jones Sports Club in Dulwich, London. The band contained other classmates named Alan Key who played the drums and Jess Jaworski who played keyboards. In 1963 Alan Key was replaced by John Coghlan and the band was renamed as The Spectres. After the name change the band started writing their own music. Over time the band achieved hitting the charts with over 60 records in the United Kingdom with first being Pictures of Matchstick Men in 1967. However like any other band Status Quo did hit an all-time low of sales during the 1970s. This didnt stop them from continuing on their musical journey because by 1977 the band polished themselves up by employing outside producers. In 1991 Status Quo received a Brit Award for outstanding contribution to music. During the 1980s the band got the opportunity to play at Queens Live at Wembly 86 concert and by November 2000 the band played a gig at Grandchester located in Australia. Unlike any other band, Status Quo feature their first film name Bula Quo. The film contained some music from their 100th single release named Bula Quo. This single was released to cinemas in July 2013. Status Quo is a band to remember for life. They have created tons of music while achieving many awards.
