The Goo Goo Dolls is an alternative rock band, formed by John Rzeznik, Robby Takac and Mike Malinin. They have recorded eight studio albums: Goo Goo Dolls, 1987, Jed, 1989, Hold Me Up, 1991, and Superstar Car Wash, 1993, have achieved international success. In 1998, they published Dizzy Up the Girl, containing the single Iris: the success of the album is due in part to the presence of this song on the soundtrack of The City of Angels, starring Meg Ryan and Nicolas Cage. Four years later, they published Gutterflower. The album sold 5 million copies, thanks mainly to the success of Here Is Gone, and in part of Sympathy. In 2007 arrives their first greatest hits that includes all the most famous pieces, and also Before It's Too Late, Transformers movie soundtrack. The latest album, Something for the rest of Us, was released on August 31, 2010. During an interview on February, 2011, John Rzeznik confirmed that he is writing new material for a new album.
